I found the following "tid-bit" recently regarding Autauga's first
courthouse.  I am passing it along for your interest.  Larry E. Caver, Jr.

"The Montgomery Journal states that a severe tornado passed through the
village of Washington, Autauga County, on the 6th instant, by which the
courthouse
was blown down and several other houses much injured." (April 30, 1833,
Southern Advocate, Huntsville, Ala.)
