Hi replying to a response, no I haven't found a census that helps.
I have posted entries on message boards for both Dutchess and Columbia Counties. I have worked Columbia and Greene Co records for most of my other families, 3/4 of my family tree cross paths in the region. all of my dad's line and part of my mothers (the rest New England or New Jersey and Bucks Co Pa) I have suspected due to lack of other data that perhaps William and Phoebe were not married, or died shortly after Lovina's birth and dropped out of sight. If William lived he may have moved on anywhere and married later. If Phoebe married later, her name would be different, too. Maybe that is why I cannot find out anything on them. Thanks for the suggestions. John
