I am new to this list and apart from posting my interests I hope you can help me with the following:

The above gentleman was uncle to my gg grandfather and I wish to find out something of his background and family.

He was born 1795 Kirriemuir,Scotland.Educated St Andrew's 1817 and Glasgow Theological Hall 1819.Ordained 1827 at Kilmarnock.Became Independent Minister of the Tabernacle & Tottenham Court Chapel.1829-1848 in Islington,London.He retained the pastoral connection until his death in 1867 and was buried in Abney Park Cemetery London.

He married Agnes Christon (surname unknown) in Scotland.One or possibly two daughters were also given 'Christon' as a second name.This name intrigues me.Is it a well known name and what is its derivation?

What was her family name? Where was she born?

Can anybody help me?
