Hi Everybody,

Thanks to several listers who sent me the M.I. for
my wife's JOHNSTON ancestors who were buried at Farnell.
This message shows the family details known to date.

The family of Alexander JOHNSTON & Helen STEEL lived at Muirside of Kinnell;
in Kinnell Parish but were buried at Farnell several were buried at Farnell.

The M.I. transcript reads :

Alex Johnston, Muirside of Kinnell Aug 11, 1862 age 87, wife Helen
Steele Aug 27, 1852 age 78 Children: Alex 1803 age 5, Wm 1806 infant,
James 1818, age 18
John 1819 age 18

The KINNELL OPR Burial Register covers about 1815 to 1854;
and the entries matching the above are :

1816
JOHNSTONJames JOHNSTON son of Alexr. JOHNSTON of Muirside
Died 31st Oct and was buried at Farnell 3rd Nov.

1818
JOHNSTONJohn JOHNSTON son of Alexr. JOHNSTON, Muirside
Died and was buied at Farnell 24th Dec.

1852
STEELHelen STEEL from Muirside buried at Farnell 30th Aug.

There are also JOHNSTON buried at Kinnell.

Alexander JOHNSTON married Helen STEEL 26 May 1798 at Kinnell.

James 17 Feb 1800 Kinnell Farnell 1818
John 30 Nov 1801 Kinnell Farnell 1819
William 16 Feb 1804 Kinnell Farnell 1806

Elisabeth/Betsy 3 Apr 1808 Kinnell m. Henry PATERSON 1837 direct line
William 21 Apr 1810 Kinnell m. Isabella STURROCK 1858 no children.
Ann(e) 5 Apr 1812 Kinnell m. William McBAIN 1848 2 daughters.
Jean 7 May 1815 Kinnell m. James PATERSON 1859 no children.

Note: Henry & James PATERSON were brothers born at Errol Perthshire,
Henry was a cab proprietor in Broughty Ferry, four children.
James was a widower, with 4 children, in 1859 when he married Jean;
decendants of James are known in Ontario, Canada.
William McBAIN was born at Moy, Invernesshire in 1803.
