For a great many years I have been trying to connect up my Malcolms and now
thought I would try the Angus list.

My earliest confirmed Malcolm is Thomas Malcolm, father of James Malcolm
christened Aug 4, 1765, Kirriemuir possibility that Thomas chr June 19,
1763 and Jean chr Oct 14, 1767, both Kirriemuir are siblings.

James has a son, David b. c. 1787 in Murroes (he gave Murroes as his place
of birth on 1851/61 Monikie Census) with Isabella Thomson. Have not found
David's birth record or his marriage record to Isabella. So far have only
found 1 son attached to this couple.

David marries Agnes Stewart in Monikie Nov 27, 1810 they have 9 children in
Monikie.
1. Mary C Feb 17, 1811 marries Alexander Les(s)lie Mar 21, 1835 Monikie,
they have 4 children, Alexander, David, Janet (Jess) Stewart, William and
George Malcolm

2. Thomas b. Sep 30, 1813, died Feb 9, 1836 Monikie
3. James B. May 1, 1815 died Jan 30, 1828 Monikie

4. George b. May 16, 1817 died May 12, 1851 have no found any indication he
married.
5. John b Jul 17, 1819, have not confirmed that he married Amelia
Fairweather but they had 1 son William b 1852 in Monifieth. William is my
great grandfather, he married Catherine McPherson in Kirriemuir in 1878.

6. DAVID b. Sep 7, 1821 married Matilda Crockett and had 3 children James,
George and Agnes born in Tealing.

7. WILLIAM b Sep 2, 1823 married Margaret Drummond June 23, 1848, Dundee
had 6 children. William, Agnes Stewart, John Drummond, Jane Small,
Elizabeth Whitton, and Joanna Mathers Carrie.

8. Robert b. Nov 28, 1825 have not found him beyond the 1841 Murroes census
9. Andrew b Jun 9, 1829 have not found him beyond the 1841 Monikie census

I have some possibilities on the children of some of the above

1. MARY's daughter Janet (Jess) appears with her father, brother (William
later in 1881 he marries Helen Roy), nephew and son on the 1881 Liff &
Benvie census she has the surname Roy and the son is John Roy listed as
born in England but of course no county or town.

MARY's son David is listed on the 1881 Forfar census with wife Jessie
Mitchell and 6 children his son Alexander is with his father and sister
Janet in Liff & Benvie.

6. DAVID's son James appears on the 1881 census Dundee with wife Betsy and
five children, David, Alexander McWalter. Matilda Crockatt., AndrewFyfe
(only appeared as initials) and Margaret Thornton.

DAVID's daughter Agnes appears on 1881 Census Tealing with husband James
Robertson igi indicates they married Dec 8, 1871 Tealing and had 2 children
David Malcolm b Jun 16, 1872 Dundee and James b Jul 4, 1874 Dundee

7. WILLIAM's daughter Agnes marries James Paterson, on the 1881 Dundee
census with daughter Jessie and son William and brother William and sister
Joanna.

If anyone connects with any of the above I would really like to exchange
further info.
