Subject: Re: [ARIZARD] Jennings, Beavers and Thompson- Harold and Junebug?
Tell you what..........
I went to work part time here in San Diego in a home furnishings shop. Was
sitting around doing zero. Well, part time turned into full time design
work and I have been so busy I could not come up for air!
My husband was here in mid-October and I think I have my FTM figured out.
Still working on it, obviously - but, at least I can access my files.
Sending information I have not mastered yet.
I thought about you, too - Junebug. I was going to attempt to hash this
line out with Harold off list, but might as well throw it out to the List
and see what we can do to help this lady and well, me too - as I said - I am
kind of puzzled about it all. (Nothing new for me, right? LOL)
Anyway, Max Parnell referred a woman to me because she is a Beavers
researcher. I am kind of puzzled. Nice lady. Once I got into the lines
last night - I was even more confused. I do not have access to my Heritage
or Ancestry - because I can not remember my passwords, etc - they are on the
desktop in Hawai'i - and Scott is there and does not know how to access the
So, I am needing some help - if you all don't mind?
I think the best way to post this, is to send a portion of Nancy's email to
the List. Now, I come into the picture because her Beavers family and mine
are right in the same Buffalo area of Baxter County. My Sinors intermarried
not only with the same Beavers family; but all these folks in the area
intermarried over and over again. You know?
Soooooo..........here is what she presented to me:
<<Max Parnell was so kind to give me your e-Mail, I was scrolling through
some info on Laban John Beavers, I saw your name, and was hopeful that you
might be able to help me. I am step-related to Laban John thru my Great
Great Grandmother Pheobe Ann who married him after Charlotte died in 1869,
Not sure of the exact dates but we know it was sometime between 1870 and
1877, Laban died in 1877 and left a will thru oldest son George and
mentioned my GGGrandmother as the widow, if you know about her (Pheobe) or
have anything to add to what we found please let me know.
I am related to her thru Grand father Roland Jennings marriage to Phebie
Jennings who was a
daughter of Nancy Mariah Thompson Who was daughter of Pheobe Ann Beavers
of Laban John. I do not know Pheobe Ann's Maiden name or names prior to
Laban. I have some info on Laban John and his children by researching the
census, land records, and wills. I have the D.C. of Nancy Thompson, it lists
her maiden name as Beavers, but I don't know if that is true or not, she was
born in 1853, in Ash Flat, Arkansas, unless Pheobe had a previous marriage
to a Beavers.>>
Now, from what I am reading here.........the Phoebe that was married to my
Laban John Beavers (Marion and Baxter Counties) had a daughter that married
an Izard County Thompson (Nancy Mariah to Lewis Robert Thompson) and this
couple daughter named Phoebe (also and probably named for her grandmother)
that was married to a Roland Jennings.
Note: Nancy Mariah's deathe certificate said that she was born on Mar 26,
1853 in Ash Flat, Arkansas. Now, was that in Sharp County in 1853?
The elder Phoebe was the second wife of Laban John Beavers and is listed as
his widow in 1877. No additional information is known about this Phoebe
other than her approximate 1872 marriage to Beavers.
The researcher; Nancy is thinking that the elder Phoebe was a Beavers by
birth. Nancy Mariah's Missouri death certificate reflects that her mother
was "Phoebe Beavers." Frankly, I think the informant said this because the
elder Phoebe's last marriage was to a Beavers. Thus, her being called
So, Harold and Junebug? What do you all have on your Thompson and Jennings'
lines? This might not be your direct Jennings line, Harold - but, if you
are like me - you have probably explored the various other lines of Jennings
families in the area.
Sooooooo..............I am real sorry to hear that you have been under the
weather, Harold. Life sure throws us some curves - doesn't it? Keep
strong, young man and you too, Junebug.
Look forward to hearing from you two and anyone else who wants to tackle it.
For starters - I was curious as to if there was a Beaver(s) family in 1860
Thanks you all!
