If anyone runs into great websites, please go ahead and share your
findings with us all. Thanks! Debbie

I came across an incredible file this
past weekend regarding Arnots/Arnotts/Arnets/Arnetts, as I was doing
some
genealogy research on the Internet. It purports to contain all the
recorded events,
such as births, deaths, christenings, and marriages, from 1998 going
back as far as
available, specifically for all Arnots/Arnotts/Arnets/Arnetts, for all
of Scotland.
(I noted a few dates back at least till the 1300's or 1400's.) The
entries are
alphabetical by first name, and under the name for most of the entries
are the names
of that person's parents, including the mother's maiden name.
I'm inclined to agree that it likely has all (or nearly all) of the
recorded events because
the text file, when expanded, is huge -- over 2 MB. There are nearly
600 pages in the
file and about 9 or 10 entries on each page. That amounts to over 5000
entries
about Arnots/...! Of course, some are probably multiple entries of the
same person
where that person has an entry for his/her birth and perhaps
christening, and maybe
marriage, and maybe date of death.
Of course, this may not be any news to everyone, and everyone else might
have it
already. However, if anyone would like to have it, I'd be happy to send
it to them if
they give me their email address. I'm not sure I still have the web
site from where I
downloaded it, so anyone who wants it might have to ask me or someone
else I send
a copy to. If I find the web site, I'll let you know so you can post
it.
