Hi Deven,
Your e-mail has been printed and is in my "go pack" for when I go back to
Virginia. I will definitely do some looking for additional info on a
possible Atkinson-Bacon's Rebellion link. This is all interesting because
Nathan Atkinson went to NC and while there killed a man, Jernigan, who was
reportedly a Tory. He was found guilty of murder and sentenced to hang.
Friends from Virginia broke him out of jail he later ended up becoming the
first Atkinson to go to Camden County, Georgia. NC tried to extradite, but
Georgia turned them down. I have a copy of some of the court records from
the proceedings in NC and I will dig them out and get some dates for you.
