There is this convict with the same name...born Ireland and the birth date
is the same. This James Allister was a Widower at the time of his
conviction and had one child.

Subject: Re: MCALISTER

Hoping someone may be researching James MCALISTER. The middle name of
Maybury is shown at times however on his death certificate it is shown as
Mayling.
Believed to have been born in Ireland about 1805 with perhaps John as his
fathers name.
He was married in Sydney in 1842 to Sarah Maria MARK/s (on some papers her
name was WARK/WORK) who was from Manchester -father Joseph MARK and mother
Catherine ROLLS
He died in Bathurst 1873

They had a number of children and I am descended from the daughter Jane Mary
Alberta McAlister who married Edward Wilcox/Wilcock in Bathurst.

Have not found James' arrival in Australia and as he married so late
wondering whether he may have been a convict and/or married previous to
Sarah.

Any help much appreciated.
