Hi, has anybody discovered a ghost in your family tree, I have.
When I was 7years of age, my father passed away and my mother sent me to
live with her Uncle and his wife. They had no children, and we lived in
Carlton, a Sydney suburb. Their names were Thomas Billington and Ethel
Annie Pinn, he was a builder, built my mother two houses over the
years.It was 1947 that my father passed away and it would have been
about 1950 that we moved to Hurstville Grove into a house that he built
himself. We remained in that house until about 1957 when he contracted
hepetitus and subsequently died in the house while I was at school one
day.
While he was building the home he told his sister (My Grandmother) that
he was putting a stache of money under the home to care for his wife
should anything happen to him. When he died, I don't know how hard my
mother and grandmother searched for the money but on the probate of his
will he was almost broke, only owned the home he lived in.
About a month ago I was in the Hurstville Grove area with my wife, I
took her to show her the house and noticed the owner doing some
painting, we stopped and I told him the story about living there, his
wife told me that 'HE' is still there in the house, they have owned the
house for 29 years and she has heard him in the house many times and
even gave me a fairly good description of him.
Ghost stories always happen to other people over the other side of the
world, never thought one could be so close.
