If you have access to the 1851 UK Census index could SKS possible have a
look for the following please:
The reference is:
Isabella SMITH 1851 IRL RFW 911.
She would be about 50/51 years of age and a widow unless she had remarried.
The names of her childen, if any are still with her would be George (now
about 25) or perhaps Robert (now about 30).
Her daughter Susan was still in Cotgrave with relatives in 1851and her
other son, William had been transported to Australia.
I have been chasing an ancestor, Robert Breffitt from Nottingham. He was a
soldier and had died by the time of the 1841 census as his wife Isabella is
listed as a widow, and although difficult to decipher, her place of birth
looks as though it is Ireland. Her two sons William and George and a
daughter, Susan were listed as part of her household in Cotgrave in the
1841 Census. [Piece Number 853 COT 4 - Cotgrave]
She disappears from there between the 1841 and the 1851 Census.
Recently surfing the net I found a possible reference to an Isabella SMITH
(I think that is her surname) who is an Irish stray in the 1851 census.
Can anyone help?
