Introducing Lorraine & Les Shephard. We are newcomers to mailing lists, the Internet, and even Windows 98 so please excuse any ignorance of computer-speak and any errors in etiquette.

We have been very successful in our "snail mail" approach over the past few years, but now look to the electronic method of tracing our dead ends.

Edmund William HAINES, a builder born about 1822 in Essex, U.K. spent much of his widowed life living at 52 Hill Street, Leichhardt with widowed Harriet Louisa whom he eventually married only six months before her death at the age of 74. We have a very full story which we are only too willing to share.

Can't find his birth, his first marriage, his arrival in Australia !
He gives his parents as William & Mary. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
