There are quite a lot of transcriptions and indexes available for the 1851
census of England and Wales, done mostly by family history societies. Look
at the various societies' web pages to find out what towns in their area
have been completed. There's a list of all the completed YKS ones on the
Genuki web site, put together by Colin Hinson.
You can buy fiche of the 1891 census from the Public Record Office (see
their web site) but it isn't indexed: you need to know which section of the
census to buy to find your ancestors.
Of course, the CDs of the 1881 British census, produced by the LDS church,
are excellent value for money and probably essential buying for anyone
researching folks in the UK at that time.
You should be able to find transcriptions of the surviving bits of the 1822
and 1837 (there were a couple of earlier ones) musters of convicts, and that
of the 1828 census of NSW. State libraries in Oz have them, and if you are
overseas the libraries would probably do look-ups and photocopies for you at
a reasonable fee.
I don't really know any more than this, but perhaps other listers can add to
it. I'm also sorry that I don't have time to do look-ups for people myself
just at present.
Cheers,
Satima
