Subject: Parish "Marsfield" in Sydney

My ancestor Henry E New is recorded as being baptised
at "Marsfield" in 1853.

He later recorded that he was born at "Parramatta".

My simple understanding is that in the early years freed convicts mostly got land
on the south of the harbour ( concord, lidcome areas ) and retired
soldiers and guards got land on the north side of the Harbour
( the "Field of Mars", more or less corresponding to today's Ryde area).
Today Marsfield is a small suburb at the northern end of Ryde LGA.

Does anyone happen to know how large an area would have
been "Marsfield Parish" (CofE) in 1853 ? Was Parramatta in "Marsfield Parish" ?

TIA

Robert
