Subject: Campbell of Portumna Galway/Gunningshire

I just joined this list, with the goal of finding distant Campbell cousins.
I recently discovered, on the website for cemeteries in and around
GunningShire, NSW, Australia, a few Campbell's who must be cousins. Mary
Campbell died Bungendore 10.5.1951 and her husband Patrick Campbell died
Sydney 16.8.1929, native of Portumna, Co Galway, Ireland. My Campbell
ancestors left Portumna, Galway, in 1872 and settled in Boston, Mass. Are
there any possible Campbell ancestors out there from Galway? Portumna is
not a very big place, and Campbell is not a very common name in this part
of Ireland, therefore we surely are cousins. Can anyone lend assistance on
how to obtain a death record for this Patrick Campbell, or any other type
of civil record. I have never been to Australia and have never researched
Australian records.

any type of research in Massachusetts or New England, USA, for anyone who
would like to help me out.
