Hi,

Victor's book is great. I had not known anything about the Pereira family
before reading it. But, I too have always wondered why my ancestors would
leave Portugal for the Azores.

My mother told me that during her father's time, they still had a saying
something like 'guard us from the Inquisition.'

If anyone has information on the Pereira's of Sao Jorge, please let me know.
