Subject: [AZORES-L] First Pereira on Sao Miguel.

The first Pereira on Sao Miguel according to Frutuoso was Vasco Pereira. He
was one of the first colonizers in the group that came with Goncalo Vaz
Botelho. That was probably about 1450. There are other Pereiras mentioned.
There is also my ancestor, Fernao Camelo Pereira who was a descendant of the
old condes de Trastamara, and came to the Azores in the 1500s, and is the
progenitor of the Camelo Pereiras in the Azores, settling first in Feteiras,
Sao Miguel. He was a fidalgo of the Casa Real and married Beatris Cordeiro on
Sao Miguel.
