Dear Beni....or I should say Dear Primo,

I do not know how you descend from Manuel Dutra Correia, but I can tell you
that we ARE related! Would the distant relative that shared information with
you be part of Pauline Stonehill's family?? Have you heard of her book, A
Barrelful of Memories? I read the book awhile back and became interested in
the author's ancestry as it "sounded" like hers should connect to mine in
Castelo Branco. I did a little research on her lines and found that we
connected in three different lines in my ancestry.....Pauline, who is the
great-granddaughter of Manuel Dutra Correia, who was born before 1834 and
married Michaelina Emilia, is my 4th cousin once removed and also my 5th
cousin, once removed and then, my 5th cousin, twice removed :)

The above Manuel Dutra Correia is the son of Manuel Dutra Correia and
Francisca Luisa who married June 5, 1809.

Manuel D. C. who married Francisca Luisa is the son of Manuel Dutra Correia
born Dec 7, 1729 in Castelo Branco and Ignacia Rosa born before 1763 in
Capelo.....both this M. D. C and Ignacia Rosa are my common ancestors.

M. D.C. born Dec 7, 1729 is the son of Manuel D.C. and Joanna Pereira who
married October 25, 1728 in Castelo Branco. This older M.D.C. was the son of
Francisco Dutra and Anna Dutra. Joanna Pereira was the daughter of Bento de
Vargas and Agada Pereira.

That is one connection...but I have much more on this family. Why don't you
e-mail me privately and let me know what you do have or don't have. If you
send me your regular mail address, I can print out Pauline pedigree and also
mine for you and send it by regular mail....I am better on that, than on the
computer.

Good to meet a new cousin!
