Thanks Doug about putting the question of the name of Bras. I have wondered
about it many times, not able to find the name in the Books of Saints. Mr.
Almeida, of the Freitas Library, also could not help me. Possibly this is
going to be a really true Portuguese name, but again perhaps the Spanish
have this name also.
Interesting is the name Sao Roqué in Portuguese. He is a saint for the
protection of plagues. The name is also Sao Roque in Spanish. It is Rocco
in Italian, Roche in French, and Rock in English. His day was celebrated
just recently - on August 16th.
