Nelson, I understand your concern, however these lists are also a way to
share culture and heritage and if people are concerned about the situation
in Timor Leste, then perhaps this is the only way some have to urge others
to express their outrage. Yesterday, Portugal gave "three minutes for Timor"
by stopping everything they were doing and ringing church bells to show
solidarity for the people of Timor. I think all of us of
Portuguese/Brazilian heritage should take 3 minutes for Timor and express
our concern and outrage to our governments and urge them to have the U.N.
send peacekeepers to Timor. IF THIS IS AN ABUSE OF THESE LISTS, THEN SO BE
IT. All those who have posted messages on this issue so far have only
expressed the same concern and I feel that it has NOT been an abuse of these
lists.

END OF SUBJECT.

Richard
