Actually, Vagos (with an o) is the name of a concelho
and parish in the district of Aveiro, on the mainland
coast between Lisbon and Porto, so I could certainly
believe that the name Vagas exists.

Vagas doesn't seem to be a real Portuguese name. Is it
a variation of
Viegas? Neves and Mattos are names I know. Did yours
go to CA? Where
are
they from? Were they born in the 1500s or the 1900s?
