I really appreciate this current topic. I have been there and done that and
if not for the people on the Portugal list and this list and the websites, I
don't think I would come as far as I have. I neither speak/read/write
Portuguese. Without their guidance, help in letter writing, and help in the
baptism translations, I would still be "up a tree with no way down.".

True, I have a long way to go--you know that "town and parish" thing for my
Machado sisters! But I enjoy trying to do as much as I can by myself and
then yell for help when I need it and there is always someone there to
answer the call. Thank you all so much.
