Hello Joy

From the date of birth, it looks as if Joan POCOCK may have been GI
bride and was married sometime during WWII - ie. Between 1940 (or when
ever the American troops arrived in the UK) and 1945 (when they went
back).

Trawling through the GRO marriage indexes - probably available on mfm or
mfc at an LDS / Mormon FH Library near you - starting in 1939 (when Joan
would have been 21) - and hopefully you will find the reference (or
several, depending on how many Joan POCOCK's there are getting married
in this period. The index will include the spouse's surname at this
period (they are included from 1911).

A copy of the marriage certificate will supply the rest of the
information - date, place, father's name, etc. ...
