Hi Listers

I am hoping someone can help me with a marriage that just refuses to be
found.

George LEACH/LEECH married Rosa Jane CLARK(E) c1878/9, probably in the
Grove, Wantage area. The marriage does not appear on the GRO. The only
possibility was a marriage registered Reading of a George LEACH and a
Rosa CLARK, same quarter but with different folio numbers. When I
ordered the certificate, it was not issued as they did not marry each
other.

I have also searched at the BRK CRO while on a visit there last Xmas. I
have checked Grove which is where I expected to find the marriage and
also Childrey, Wantage, West Hanney and East Challow.

On the 1881 census, George and Rosa J. LEECH are married and living at
Grove with a 1 year old daughter, Annie E. On the 1871 census, George is
with his parents in Grove as a 12 year old and Rosa is with her parents
at Grove as an 8 year old. George and Rosa's subsequent children are all
born at Grove till they moved to London c1885.

Rosa Jane's birth was also not registered on the GRO but I did find her
baptism on the Grove Parish records. Is it possible some records just
got lost?

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Regards
