Hi

I am new to this list and very much an "amateur" family historian. I have discovered that, at the time of the 1861 census, my g.grandfather Loveden BOUCHER, was an inmate of Her Majesty's Prison, Devizes St John. My whole family is itching to find out the reason for his stay there and I would be grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction.
