First, this is not the right list (though you're close) - Oxfordshire
matters are, not surprisingly, covered by the
list.

As Oxfordshire "stole" a large chunk of Berkshire in 1974 there is a great
deal of overlap between the two county FHSs. OFHS have done a lot of
transcription work in old North Berks.

The Oxfordshire Family History Society (www.ofhs.org.uk) have a "complete"
marriage index (I have found the odd marriage that has been missed on the
fiche issue - but cannot comment on the current computer based index).

The index can be consulted at several libraries and the Oxfordshire Record
Office - and lookups are fairly common on the Oxford list. Alternatively
OFHS offer a lookup service or will sell it on fiche.

A baptism index is in preparation - and is going very well. The bottleneck
at present appears to be finding volunteers to check transcription queries
against the original registers (any volunteers let me know). Certain
officers of the OFHS have the partial index (continually being updated) and
will do occasional lookups for the Oxfordshire list members.

Milton was in Berkshire, Great Milton was and is in Oxfordshire.

Great Milton entries 1558-1837 are in the OFHS Marriage Index.
