Hello Kerrie,
Great Milton is actually in Oxfordshire.
I have had a look at the transcriptions for Great
Milton and found the following:-
Marriage-10 Feb 1806
Charles FIPPS b, & Elizabeth JACKSON sp, botp
Wit=Robert Jennings/Joseph Coleman
I found the baptism you were looking for in the
Headington P/Reg transcripts:-
Baptisms
1806-07 Sep-PHIPPS Charles s Charles & Elizabeth (bn
17 Aug 1806)
1809-19 Feb-PHIPS William s Charles & Elizabeth
(bn 13 Feb 1809)
1811-01 Sep-PHIPS Richard s Charles & Elizabeth (bn
16 Aug 1811)
1814-24 Jul-PHIPS Elizabeth d Charles & Elizabeth
1817-19 Jan-PHIPPS Richard s Charles & Elizabeth
Buriel
1814-25 May-PHIPS Richard 3
I cannot find a marriage for Charles (bn 1806) and
Mary(?Ann) ?CROZIER but these are their children
baptised at Headington
Baptisms
1834-08 Jun-PHIPPS Martha Mary d Charles & Mary lab
1837-25 Feb-PHIPPS Elizabeth d Charles & Mary lab
1840-14 Jun-PHIPPS James Crozier s Charles & Mary lab
1843-08 Jun-PHIPPS Ann d Charles & Mary Ann lab
1845-09 Nov-PHIPPS Mary Ann Crozier d Charles & Mary
Ann lab
CROZIER is not a very common name in the Headington
area, there are a few COSIERs.
You might find it useful to join the Oxfordshire
rootsweb list and request a kind soul with access to
the Marriage Index for a look-up for the marriage of
Charles PHIPPS and Mary (Ann)?CROZIER c 1830ish plus a
look-up of the 1851 Census to see where she says she
was born!
The 1841 Census for Headington shows:-
PHIPPS
Charles 35 Lab
Charles 10
Mary 30 lab
Martha 7
Elizabeth 4
James 1
But it does not give "where born" the 1851 census
does.
Hope this will help
Elizabeth
