Dear Sue
Thank you for your email. I know a little of Charles EIGHTEEN & Sons
Limited, a company founded in 1925 according to a hand bill I've received a
copy of. I believe it was set by "Charlie" EIGHTEEN, possibly soon after the
death of his brother, John, in 1925. I know little about "Charlie" - I knew
nothing about "Ron". The only children I'd come across for "Charlie" had
been Leslie George (born 1910), M.S. (a child born in 1895 and dying just
over a year later), F.S. (ditto, although born 1889), E.M. (ditto, although
born 1907), Charles jr and then some possibilities (these appear to be buried
in the same location as Charles) Elsie Annie and Myrtle Winifred.
It's interesting about the butchers "EIGHTEEN and COX Ltd". One of the
relatives that did keep in contact with my family was "Uncle Teddy" COX -
Flora Matilda's son. He alas died a number of years ago, but my mum is still
in contact with his sons. I hadn't realised that there was a butchery
connection in that family as well.
Many thanks for your help. Any is appreciated.
Best wishes.
Julie Williamson
