How about Not Known i.e. your relative was born in Berkshire but the
informant wasn't sure where.

I have just discovered a new ancestor of mine on the 1881 census but I'm
a bit stuck on his place of birth it says N K Berkshire that's all!
Does anyone out there know what N K is short for?
All help gratefully received.
