Hi everyone

I know that you have all heard from me before, but I thought perhaps I should tell a little about myself.

I have been researching my maiden name BORDEN in Australia since I was 15 (nearly 20 years), but with more time off than on! This resulted in a database of 2935 individuals and 2115 families of descendants of my great great grandfather. I have now linked in with other people's research via internet research, which takes the name from USA to England back to 1066 and ties me in with common ancestors of Winston Churchill, Lizzie Borden (the axe murderer) and the chap that invented condensed milk, amongst other famous soles!

I have now turned my efforts towards my husband's name, BRAILSFORD. His father, Joseph Dennis BRAILSFORD (known as Bob to confuse genealogists in the future) immigrated to Australia from England when he married Wendy, an Australian. Fortunately I have managed to get some family members in England enthusiastic enough to try to contact some rellies for further information on the other descendants as well as ancestors of William Henry BRAILSFORD & Emma STOPPARD. I have (hopefully) organised for someone to visit the Clay Cross cemetery and take photos and transcripts of relevant headstones. I have also ordered the two LDS films of 1871 census for Clay Cross area.

So at the moment I'm "sitting back waiting", but still seem to spend every spare minute at the computer or in the library!
