Hi List,

I have a number of reference documents that may be of interest to this list.
I am willing to do look-ups of individuals if required. However note the
caveats on the individual items below. The things I have are:

1881 UK Census for the whole UK on CD. I am in the process of transcribing
the Brailsford surname entries from this via Kerrie (Cheshire and Derbyshire
are done - others will follow imminently). These CDs are quick to look up
people - given a name and at least a county.

The Phillimore Parish Registers: Marriages for Derbyshire. These are 15
volumes containg most of the marriage records from the 1500s to around 1812
for the whole of Derbyshire. There are a few 'holes' where the resistrs were
missing or destroyed. However, these are *books*. If you want a search,
please give me a name and a parish or at least a geographical region.
Searching involves reading the text!

Kelly's Directory for Derbyshire 1881
Kelly's Directory for Derbyshire 1912
Pigot's Directory for Derbyshire 1831
Pigot's Directory for Derbyshire 1835
Baines Directory for Lancashire 1824/25

All the five directories above contain a little verbal picture of each
town/parish with lists of the gentry and tradesmen at the time. (However,
see the note on the Phillimore Parish Registers for search criteria).

I also have an 1831 Topographical Dictionary of England - this doesn't
contain people as such, but it does describe most of the cities, towns and
villages at that time.
