Hi Kerry & list
Could your correspondent's great-grandfather, Frederick Brailsford, be from
this 1891 census family (as posted to the list a few days ago)?
1891 RG12/2652/98 - 93 Penn Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield
John BRAILSFORD Head Married 50 Builder Sutton
Ruth BRAILSFORD Wife Married 51 Blidworth
Elizabeth BRAILSFORD Daughter Unmarried 23 Dressmaker Sutton
Lucy A. BRAILSFORD Daughter Unmarried 21 Hosiery seamer Sutton
Joseph M. BRAILSFORD Son Unmarried 19 Asst schoolmaster Sutton
Luther [?] BRAILSFORD Son Unmarried 17 Apprentice to printer Sutton
Albert BRAILSFORD Son Unmarried 16 Apprentice to plumber Sutton
Ruth BRAILSFORD Daughter 14 Sutton
Fred BRAILSFORD Son 12 Scholar Sutton
He would have been around 56 by the time of Edward Brailsford's marriage, so
old enough to be his father (depending on Edwd's age, of course...).
Hope this helps
Best wishes
Elli
