Hi listers,

Well I just had to put a special thankyou to Chris Booth here. He's not even
researching the name of Brailsford, but he's put in hours of work to help
all of us.
*********THANK YOU CHRIS FOR ALL OF YOUR FABULOUS WORK*******

Chris has now extracted and supplied me with some files of all Brailsfords
in the *1881 census* for all of the UK.What an EFFORT! [I need to copy the
data across to make a single searchable file.]

Also, I have an extract of 47 marriages from the *Phillimore's Parish
Registers* (but not complete, only what Chris came across while doing other
work) THANKYOU!

Not only that, but Chris also spent considerable time downloading the *IGI
index* of Brailsfords in Derbyshire. So I now have a file (which I need to
work on a bit to make address fields consistent and delete duplicates) which
potentially can be sorted by location. This is a terrific tool when
researching a particular area, but is limited to the information supplied.
ie whether they entered "Woolley Moor, North Wingfield" or just "North
Wingfield". I've been going through and trying to sort people into families
a bit too, but it's only the index downloaded, not the detail. So it's only
used as a reference to look up the detail. But it helps find some elusive
characters! I've already been using it for some people's research and come
up with interesting possibilities.

I'm also (gradually) putting together three files... (1)Births, (2)
Marriages, and (3) Deaths from various sources that can be sorted in any
way.

These files will obviously never be "finished"! So if anyone would like a
copy of what is there now, please email me. Then I can send updates as they
are refined. Or send me a request and I'll see if I can find your ancestor.

PLEASE help to improve this database. If you're getting any films, take the
time to record ALL Brailsford information, not just your own, and send it
all to me so I can include it on these files. This will help all of us.

I'm off to the Canberra LDS now. See you
Kerrie
