Hi to all you Campbells! What a great site! I am looking for information
on my great great grandfather, James Campbell(1830-1923), born, Ireland.
His parents were Patrick,(1795-1857) and Esther(1797-1857.) James emigrated
to North America but I don't know where or when. He had 5 brothers,
John-1828, William-1833, Hugh-1836, Henry-1837, and one sister, Maria 1840.
James ended up in Brampton, Ontario, married to Ellen Mitchell(1837-1924, an
American Baptist, not sure where she was born.) There may also be a Whitby,
Ontario connection. James and Ellen had 9 children, James Robert-1860,
William Henry-1861, John Alexander-1863, Ellen Louise Victoria(became Mrs.
Cole)-1866, Thomas Bone-1867, George Jay Arthur, Cyrus Carey, Edward Hugh,
and Magdalena Sarah(became Mrs. Fowler). George Jay Arthur was my
great-grandfather. This family lived in Brampton from the 1870's to the
1890's, when they began to move to Niagara Falls, Ontario. George Jay
Arthur Campbell, married Lividea Zurbrigg and had three sons, Lorne, George
Jr. and Frank. Frank Kenneth Campbell was my grandfather, and lived in
Niagara Falls. He married Mary Angelena Asher of Dunville, Ontario and they
had two sons, one of which is my dad, Frank Asher Campbell.
I am looking for information on James Campbell's(1830-1923) emigration from
Ireland, or any relatives out there who want to connect with me!
