Hi, Folks,

Please send your messages in plain text, including attachments. The file
attachment should have a file extension of ".txt".

*DON'T* send to the list:
pictures (.jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .tif, etc)
sounds (.mid, .midi, .wav, etc)
videos (.avi I think)
executables (.exe, .com, .dll, etc)
and so on.

If you want to share them, I can put them in the list archives for
you for all to download, and with a message to the list to let folks know
about the file. Or send a message telling folks you have the file, and
let them know you will send it directly to them rather than via the list.

Why? Non-text attachments take up lots of room on email servers, have to
be encoded for transmission in emails, and have to be decoded by the
recipients. Many programs have automatic decoding, but there are many
that do not. The recipient has to know how to decode the file if there is
no automatic decoding.

Thanks,
Chris
