Subject: [CAMPBELL] CAMPBELL, ALEXANDER

Hello,
I am searching for any information regarding, yes, another Alexander Campbell.
Seeking information regarding his marriage, ancestry, military service, etc.
What I know:
He left a will in Whitley County, KY dated 10 August 1810 witnessed by James
Cord (?), Brooks Smith, and Josiah Smith. He mentions children Jane Shelly
and James Campbell (James being my ancestor). No mention is made of a wife.
He also directs Alexander Campbell to make sale of some 140 odd acres of land
in Cocke County, TN. This makes me wonder if they had previously lived in
Cocke County, or if this was a land bounty warrant awarded him for service in
the Revolution.
Children are thought to be James, Jane, John, Alexander and William Campbell,
with possible birth years stretching from 1750 to 1775. Jane was probably
married to Jeremiah Shelly. Apparently, Jeremiah Shelly is found earlier in
Jefferson County, Tennessee. There also may have been a daughter who was
married to Jacob Harmon.
Does anyone connect or have information relevant to the above?
Thank you for any and all help.
Sincerely,
Linda Shay
