ANDERSON _ Marjory Louise (MacLeod) Born July 26, 1924 in Glen Norman,
Ontario, on the same farm founded by her great-grandfather, Marjory died on
June 30, 2007 in the Delta Hospital while sharing a quiet cup of coffee with
Blair, her husband of 60 years. Marjory will always be an inspiration to
Blair and to her sons, Craig (and Paul) and Clark (and Robin), to her
daughter Leslie, and to her four grandchildren, Cameron (and Laurie),
MacGregor (and Elysia), Nandi and young Blair, and to her great-grandson,
wee Gryffin. Survived by one brother, Duncan Rae (Velma, d.), Marjory was
also a baby sister to John Leslie (Dorothy, d.) and Donald Edgar (and
Louise). Her love of life will be remembered by her many cousins, including
Florence, Alix and Kathy; and also by Rae's children, John, Douglas and
Elizabeth; Edgar's family, Brian, Mark, Janice, Darcy and Paul; and the
children of Blair's late sister, Dorothy (Orville, d.): Lindsay, Brock and
Shelley. Marjory's immense spirit was a constant source of strength to her
family and her countless friends. From cherished times spent around the
dinner table at home on Tsawwassen Beach (and the waiting for green flashes
at sunset), to her energetic participation in the University Women's Club,
yoga and exercise classes, a favourite book club and regular bridge
meetings, so many were influenced by Marjory's relentless focus on the
positive, her openness to new ideas, the twinkle in her eye, and her
beautiful smile. For all these hours filled with joy and laughter with
Marjory, we will always be truly thankful. Please join us to celebrate
Marjory's long and happy life on Friday, July 13 at the Tsawwassen United
Church at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a memorial
donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

BATES _ Frances Alberta Luella 'Frankie" December 21, 1921 - June 28, 2007
Frankie Bates was born in Prince Rupert, B.C. to a pioneer family from the
Pacific Northwest. Art, her husband of 65 years, daughter Margo and
son-in-law Russ, step-grandchildren Rachael, Tommaso and the latest addition
to the family, 11-month-old Damian Zamperini, Joel and Ana (Karim), survives
her. Her beloved 'grand-pup' Harry the dog and numerous relatives on both
sides of the family also survive her. Her parents William Winsor and Annie
Elizabeth Noonan, her sisters Mary Elizabeth 'Molly' Hill and Louise 'Lou'
Pipe, predeceased her. Frankie stood for family, fairness, sportsmanship,
and goodwill. She looked you straight in the eye, and was kind and generous
with her love, advice and support. From the age of four, she studied violin,
then piano. At age 17, she formed The Rhythm Rollers Dixieland dance band,
which performed in the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District area. She excelled
in softball, and was called 'the best darn ball player in the Northwest',
due in part to a long-standing record of five home runs at five times to bat
in a ball tournament during the 1950s. She loved working at CFTK
Radio/Television in Terrace, BC, and many of her closest friendships were
formed in the years at TK. Once Frankie and Art moved to White Rock, she
opened a second hand-antique shop, grew a most amazing garden, and for 25
years helped out as a 'keeper of the keys' for the Lower Mainland Yacht
Co-op. Frankie's main job was as the foundation for Art and she supported
him and his numerous inventions, enterprises and creative endeavours. There
were four things Frankie wanted to do in her life: travel to Hawaii, which
she did many times; learn to fly - she got her private pilot's license at
age 45; go to New Orleans to hear her beloved Dixieland music first-hand,
and travel to Newfoundland to meet her father's family and see where he was
born. Daughter Margo took her to New Orleans, and her beloved niece Vera
took her to Newfie. Lucky at bingo, the slots and horse races, it seems only
fitting that a celebration of Frankie's life would take place on the
luckiest day of the century: 07/07/07. If she were still alive, Frankie
would advise you to purchase a lottery ticket, and if you win, make sure to
give generously in her honour to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation. Friends
are invited to join the family for a celebration of Frankie's life this
Saturday, July 7, between 3 PM and 6 PM at Earl's Restaurant (her favourite
place to celebrate), 1767 - 152 Street, South Surrey. Sincere thanks to the
wonderful home care nurses, occupational therapists and caregivers and her
two favourite Molly Maids that came to the house during Frankie's long
illness with cancer. In addition, the family wishes to thank the caring
healthcare professionals at Peace Arch Hospital Emergency Ward, and
Palliative Unit. Special thanks to Dr. David Anderson, Dr. Karvat, Dr.
Charles King, Dr. Fluit and Dr. Lowe, and Swee, Leslie, Kim, Michelle,
Joanne, Lorraine, Ann, Susan, Cheryl, Rosemary, Anna, Laurie, Della, and
Christina from the Palliative Unit. In lieu of flowers, the family invites
donations to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation 'Frankie Bates Furniture
Fund' to purchase comfortable chairs and cots for other families who stay
with their loved ones at the Palliative Unit. Donations may be made to Peace
Arch Hospital and Community Health Foundation, 15521 Russell Avenue, White
Rock, British Columbia, Canada V4B 2R4 or donate online at
www.peacearchhospital.com . Frankie's ashes will be placed with her parents
at the Telkwa Cemetery later this summer.

CHEATLEY _ Michael Donovan February 14, 1942 - June 30, 2007 Michael died
peacefully at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. Survived by daughters
Barbara Cheatley (and Mike Van Bennekom) of Toronto and Stephanie Cheatley
(and Aman Dhanji) of Vancouver. All of his family and friends who love him
dearly, including his CCRA co-workers, the lunch bunch at Shenanigans,
colleagues at the Vancouver Aquarium, his friends at the Palisades and his
college buddies from the Bytowne Inn in Ottawa will all miss him. Michael
opened our eyes and let the future in with insights on trends, popular
culture and the political climate of the day. He was an information junkie.
He took and shared all information with a grain of salt and a healthy dose
of dry wit. Michael retired at age 60 to indulge his passion for travel. We
hold him in our hearts and thoughts as he continues on his great journey. A
celebration of life will be held this Friday, July 6th at the Vancouver
Aquarium in Stanley Park from 8:00pm-11:00pm in the Beluga room. Please join
us in honouring his life and to share memories of his wonderful sense of
humour, intelligence and generosity. Memorial Donations in Michael's memory
may be made to the Vancouver Aquarium.

DOUGLAS _ Richard Wade. Born in Vancouver on June 4, 1963 and passed away
with great courage on the morning of July 1, 2007. It is with tremendous
sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, and
friend. Richard is survived and deeply missed by his parents David and
Rosemary Jean, sister Louise (Williams) and her husband John, brothers David
and Rodney, sister-in-laws JoAnne and Terri, nephews William, Jonathan, and

Richard was a great athlete and excelled in track and field, soccer, and
baseball as a young man. His athletic skills were sharpened from the
countless hours on the streets and boulevards in front of his house on 50th
with life long friends Greg and Brad. He later took to golf with the same
enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed Sunday mornings with his golfing buddies
at Shaughnessy. Richard lived his entire life in Vancouver but developed a
fondness for travel and enjoyed recalling his exploits in Thailand whenever
he could. He was also an avid collector and left a legacy of stamps, coins,
trading cards and comic books for his family to enjoy. Richard quietly but
intently followed the pursuits of his nieces and nephews as they grew from
children to young adults and left no doubt with all who knew him how proud
he was to be an uncle. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to
the Acute Care staff at Vancouver General Hospital for their professional
and compassionate care. A celebration of Richard's life will be held on
Monday, July 9, 3:00 pm at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver.

GUILD _ Emma Dorothy December 7, 1996 to June 27, 2007 It is with great
sorrow that we announce the passing of Emma. After undergoing brain surgery
to remove a tumour, Emma was left mute and severely physically disabled. But
with love, prayer, and her own unfaltering strength, Emma gained back her
speech and some mobility. She never lost her joyful spirit. Sadly, even
after aggressive radiation and chemotherapy, which she endured with tenacity
and a positive outlook, Emma passed away peacefully at Canuck Place
Children's Hospice, surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her mother
Lana Korytko, father Michael Guild, big sister Jenny Guild, big brother
James Korytko, sister-in-law Jolene, greatly adored niece Jadyn Korytko, and
grandfather Fred Korytko. She also leaves behind Aunt Cari and Uncle Mark,
Uncle Carl, Aunt Paula and Uncle Mike, Uncle Phil, Aunt Sandy, cousins
Elijah, Melanie, Cory, Joel, Aunt Lisa and Uncle Steve, and best friend

his mother Donna. She will also be sorely missed by a multitude of Maple
Grove students, staff and teachers, and her adopted grade five class at
Queen Mary - Maria King's Division 7 from Heaven. Emma was a special girl.
She had a playful sense of humour, a genuinely compassionate heart, and was
wise far beyond her years. She brought happiness everywhere she went and was
loved by everyone who had the privilege to meet her. It is only fitting that
she be sent home first, because she always joked, she had "prioriti". A
service celebrating Emma's life will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 8,
at Bethany Baptist Church, 22680 Westminster Highway in Richmond. Reception
to follow at Lisa's. Please direct donations to BC Childhood Cancer Parents
