BACHUK _ Helen (Abetkoff) March 20, 1916 - July 6, 2007 Helen Bachuk passed
away peacefully on July 6, 2007 at Squamish General Hospital at age 91, with
her family and friends by her side. She will be missed by her daughter
Evelyn, son Edward, granddaughter Jo-Ann, son-in-law Richard, sisters Mary
and Faye, daughter-in-law Colleen and her children Harrison, Nigel, and
Teri-Rose. She was predeceased by her husband William (Bill), sister Mable,
mother Susie, and father George. Helen was born in Canora Saskatchewan, she
moved to BC in the 1950's. She got married on August 1, 1954 in Canora.
Helen loved being around all of her family and friends. She also loved
playing cards, going downtown, talking to her sister Mary on the telephone,
and gardening. She was in very good health, and lived life to the fullest.
Her memorial service will be on Thursday, July 12 at 7:00 pm at the Squamish
United Church. Helen Bachuk will be missed dearly and always remembered in

BARUDIN _ Gerald Lewis Passed away after a short illness on July 9, 2007,
Gerald Lewis Barudin, 64, of Vancouver, beloved father, brother, and
grandfather. He is survived by sons Jason, 36, of Nanaimo, Samuel, 32, of
Vancouver, daughters Raven and Jessie of Vancouver; grandchildren Sydney and
Alexis, life companion Elizabeth Barudin Isaac; brothers Barry, of Wisconsin
Rapids, WI, David, of Roanoke, VA, Stuart, of Nanuet, NY, Theodore, of
Albuquerque, NM, Guy, of Ridgewood, NJ. Gerald had an essential joy of life
and a love of people. A devoted father and grandfather, he had a very full,
well-rounded life of humor and acceptance of all that life entailed. We will
all miss him dearly and he lives onward in our hearts. A memorial service
will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Glenhaven
Funeral Home, 1835 E. Hastings St., Vancouver. A private interment is
planned for July 16, 2007 at Victory Memorial Park in South Surrey.

BERTONCINI _ Marcel September 18, 1927 - July 6, 2007 In loving memory of
Marcel Bertoncini, who passed away peacefully on July 6, 2007 at the age of
79. He was predeceased by his wife Susan, and daughter Lucy. He will be
lovingly remembered by his seven children: Gisele (Jack), Denis (Sharon),
Joanne (Kirk), Dianne (Gerry), Daniel (Dollinda), Lucille (Al), Ronald
(Dana), seventeen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, as well as
extended family and many friends. Mass will be held in his memory on
Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 1:00 pm at St. Mary's Parish in Chilliwack, BC.

BREWSTER _ Aileen Bell (McIsaac) late of Abbotsford, BC, passed away after a
short illness, on July 5, 2007, at Langley Memorial Hospital at the age of
77. She is survived by her daughters Brenda Brewster and Heather Allan
(Stuart), granddaughters Laurie Leeder and Coleen Allan, brother Barrie
McIsaac, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harry,
daughter Sharon, sister Helen Lamb, and brother Kenneth McIsaac. Born in
Acton, Ontario, she moved west to Chilliwack, BC in 1950. She was actively
involved with her Church and the Canadian Veterinary Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007 at 11:00 am at St.
Matthew's Anglican Church, 2010 Guilford Drive, Abbotsford. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

CHAN _ Mee Poon, passed away peacefully on July 7th, 2007, in Burnaby, at
the age of 80. She will be sadly missed by her loving family. Visitation
will be held on Thursday, July 12th, 2007 between 6:00pm - 8:00pm in the

EDDY _ Lynn Mullins peacefully on Saturday night, July 7th, 2007. Beloved

FISHER _ Joyce Adelene Joyce passed away on July 6, 2007 in the Delta
Hospital from cancer. Joyce was born on August 9, 1946 in Empress, Alberta
to John and Elizabeth Antoni, both of whom have predeceased her. Joyce is
survived by: Bob, her loving husband of thirty three years, their two sons,
Robert and Michael, all of Delta, and her brother Gerald (Bonnie), of
Calgary, as well as, numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Joyce's
parents farmed near Mendham, Saskatchewan, where she attended school. She
obtained her teaching certificate from the University of Saskatchewan, in
Regina and taught at elementary schools in Regina, Kelowna and Tsawwassen,
prior to her resigning to raise her two sons. Joyce will be dearly missed by
her family and her many friends in the Tsawwassen area where she lived for
the past thirty-three years. Funeral Services will be held at the Sacred
Heart Parish at 3900 Arthur Drive in Ladner, BC at 11 am on Friday, July 13,
2007. A private interment will be followed by a Reception, commencing at 1pm
at the Tunnel Town Curling Club at 1720 - 56th Street, Tsawwassen, BC. In

FLYNN _ Ragna Evelyn, on July 9th, 2007. Late of Pitt Meadows, B.C., age 82
years. Survived by her loving family: husband George; 7 children, Clifford,

FRIEDRICH _ Harry Passed away July 5th, 2007, after a courageous battle with
cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Adeline; sons Peter
(Rosanna), Gert (Lesley); grandchildren; Lisa, Julie, Carrie, Cari-Lynn,
Nikki, Brad and great grandchildren Allyssa, Jaden, Jason and Taylor. He is
also survived by his sister Anita and brother Gerhard in Germany. He will be
greatly missed by many other relatives and friends here in Canada. A
Memorial Serice will be held at Valley View Arbor Chapel on Saturday July
14, 2007 at 11:00AM followed by interment and reception. Donations made to
the BC Cancer Society in Harry's name would be greatly appreciated by the
family.

GAVIGAN _ Betty, born on January 26, 1924 in Potters Bar, England. Betty
succumbed to renal failure on July 5, 2007. She is survived by her brother
Geoff, 7 children, Jacky, Fran, Michael, Leo, Anne, Kathleen, Patrick, 17
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one
grandchild, Kasey Hasenknopf. She will be dearly missed by all! Betty was a
World War II war bride and spent her life being a great mother as well as a
full time seamstress. Betty, although times were hard, you stood by us like
no other. Many thanks to the renal unit at the RCH and the Buchannan Lodge
for the love and patience they gave our mother. In lieu of flowers,
donations to The Kidney Foundation appreciated.

GODWIN _ Juanita A. passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on June 28, 2007
at Courtyard Gardens in Richmond. Born in California, she moved to Vancouver
in 1996 to be near her daughter's family. She is survived by her son, Earl
Godwin and his wife, Joyce of Albuquerque, NM; and her daughter, Pat Dymond
and her husband Andy, their three daughters and three great-grandchildren.
Though missed by her family, they rejoice that she is finally at home with
her Lord.

GODWIN _ Wycliffe Lincoln Born August 31, 1913 in Kildonan Manitoba, and
died peacefully in North Vancouver July 5, 2007. Predeceased by his wife
Patricia in 2003 and all his siblings. Survived by his daughter Joan (Don)
Hancheroff of North Vancouver and sons Jack (Ann) of Naramata and Tom
(Sheila) of Lumby; grandchildren Tania (Nashville), Trevor (Singapore),
Leanne (Chad Smith) (Whistler), Danielle (Dave Yule) (Lumby) and Mike
(Hayley) (Westbank); beloved great-grandchildren Tyler and Chloe Yule. Wyc
worked for National Drugs for over 40 years. In lieu of flowers, donations
to the Vancouver Public Library, Outreach Services, Library Square, #302-345
Robson St., Vancouver, V6P 6B3 would be appreciated. Their taped books
brought him many, many hours of pleasure. He was loved greatly by his family
and will be missed. There will be no service.

GRESHAM _ Barbara Ruth Ellis, age 75, passed away on June 29, 2007 in North
Vancouver ending a year-long illness. Barbara was predeceased by her beloved
parents, Archie and Esther (Peggy) Ellis, and infant son, Douglas Bruce.
Barbara is lovingly remembered by her children, Roxanne (Peter Hansen),
Randall (Jill) and Rebecca; and eight grandchildren, James (Sara), Candace,
Sarah, Camille, Serene, Orion, Gabriel and Aaron, and is survived by her
former husband, Douglas Gresham. Barbara is also sadly missed by her big
brother, Stanley Ellis and sister-in-law Betty in Calgary, her niece and
nephews as well as many other relatives and friends. Barbara was born in
Assiniboia, SK, and attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.
She left her prairie roots for North Vancouver in 1960, where she lived and
raised her family over the past 47 years. After raising her family, Barbara
spent many years working in some of Vancouver's finest hotels, where she
took great pride in managing their telecommunications departments and
contributing to their reputations for excellence in guest service, up to her
retirement from the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in 2002. During these years
our mother also enjoyed her role as an involved Grandma, taking delight in
the development and adventures of her grandchildren. Her wry wit, interest
in current events, love of family and joy of gardening remained with her up
to her death. A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held at Hollyburn
Funeral Home, 1807 Marine Drive, West Vancouver on Saturday, July 14, 2007

HODGES _ Elizabeth (Betty) long time resident of the PNE area in Vancouver
was born September 23, 1916 at Winnipeg Manitoba, passed away peacefully on
July 7, 2007. Predeceased by her husband Raymond, 1983. She is survived by
daughter Susan; son Robert (Elaine); grandchildren Richard and Kathleen; and
also her sister Eileen of Victoria. Many thanks to the staff of Arbutus Care
Centre for their kindness and care shown over the past three years. Private
graveside service will be held.

Jeffery Alan Howe December 5, 1985 - July 7, 2007 It is with great sadness
and unending love that Tracey Johnston and Andy Da Silva, announce the
tragic death of their son Jeffery on Saturday, July 7, 2007, in North
Vancouver, BC. Jeffery, 21, leaves his loving older brother Andrew (Meade),
his sister Alexis and niece Mia Manson. Jeffery is also survived his father
Alan Howe, grandmother Lila Johnston; grandparents Andrew and Elizabeth Howe
and Simon and Hilda Silva. He will be deeply missed by aunts, Wendy
Charbonneau, Anna Johnston, Peggy Johnston uncles, Gary Johnston, Jerry
Johnston, Craig Johnston, Curtis Johnston and Denny Johnston. Jeffery worked
for Phoenix Restoration, during his past time he enjoyed fishing, golfing,
hockey, basketball and poker night with the boys. This young man will be
dearly missed by many relatives and friends. A Prayer Service will be held
at St. Paul's Catholic Indian Church, 424 West Esplanade, North Vancouver on
Wednesday, July 11, at 7:30 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul's
Catholic Indian Church on Thursday, July 12, at 10:30 am.

HUNT _ Joseph Sheridan passed away peacefully with his family by his side in
Surrey on Sunday July 8, 2007. He is predeceased by his grandson Joseph,
special friend and mother-in-law Isabel (Nana), and will be dearly missed by

JONES _ Rena Louise (nee Zanatta) born March 2, 1925 in New Westminster,
where she passed away on July 9, 2007 after a short fight with cancer.
Survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Gilbert; daughter Lorene Penner;
siblings Albert (Ingrid), Mary (Leonard), Roy (Roz); and many nieces and
nephews. A Celebration of Rena's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday,
July 13th at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Queen's

KINNEAR _ Charlotte Mary Charlotte died after a fall on her 95th birthday
June 30th, 2007. She is survived by her sister Edith of Kamsack, Sask.,
nieces, nephews and extended family, as well as many valued friends, near
and far. Her spirit is reunited with her mother Mary, father John and
sisters Margaret, Mabel, Marjorie and infant Jean. A Memorial Service will
be held on Tuesday, July 17th, 2007 at Harvest City Church, 7416 Victoria
Drive, Vancouver, BC at 2:00 p.m. and her ashes returned to her much loved
family farm in Kamsack. In lieu of flowers, a donation to those in need
would honour Charlotte and her many years of charitable donations. Now happy

KNOX _ William (Bill) Robert. Born April 25, 1946 in Kindersley, Sask.
Passed away peacefully, with family at his side, at Peace Arch Hospital.

LUNN _ Douglas John (CD) 1918 - 2007 Passed away peacefully June 9, 2007 in
Cottonwoods Care Center, Kelowna, BC. Predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (of
47 years) in 1989, parents, BC & Winn Lunn and sister Mary. Survived by 3
sons Phillip (Jeannie) of Calgary, AB, Peter (Betty) of 100 Mile House, BC
and David (Maureen) of Kelowna, BC, 10 grandchildren/step-grandchildren, 20
great grandchildren/step great-grandchildren and many other loving family
members. Born in Bathingstoke, England on May 14, 1918 to his parents
Bernard (BC) and Winn Lunn of, 2737 West 13th, Vancouver. His parents who
were one of the pioneer families being very instrumental in forming the
Legion, boy scouts and other community organizations raised him in
Vancouver. Douglas went to Kitsilano High School where he met and married
his sweetheart Dorothy Huntingford. He worked in the family painting
business (BC Lunn Painting & Decorating) during the 30's and 40's. Served
with the 16th Canadian General Field Hospital and Seaforth Highlanders
during WWII. Upon return he moved to Burnaby in 1946 to raise the family and
operated DJ Lunn Painting & Decorating in the 40's & 50's. Hired as the
Superintendent of the paint shop at Shaughnessy Hospital until he retired in
the early 80's. Organized many reunions for 16th Canadian General Field
Hospital. Douglas was active with the museums of the Seaforth Armories and
Jericho. Enjoyed family life with the many grandchildren, camping, fishing
and traveling. He also enjoyed reminiscing the history of Vancouver, The
Fraser Canyon, and life in the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's... HE WILL BE
SADLY MISSED A memorial service is to be held July 14, 2007, 1pm, at St.
Margaret's of Scotland, 1030 Sperling Ave, Burnaby, BC, V5B 4H9. In lieu of
flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Margaret's for a
project in his memory.

McMAHON _ Agnes was born November 8, 1914 in Calgary, AB. She passed away
peacefully July 4, 2007 at the age of 92. She is survived by her sister
(Violet Myers), children (Larry, Jean, Linda and John), 8 grandchildren, 5
great-grandchildren, 4 nieces and nephew, 2 great-nephews and 3 great-great
nieces and nephew. She was much loved. A memorial service will be held on
Monday, July 16, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Granville Chapel, 5901 Granville
Street, Vancouver, BC. It will be appreciated if, in lieu of flowers,

MOORE _ Edith Mable Mable passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at the
Windermere Lodge in Vancouver. She was born September 1, 1916 in Regina,
Sask. Her family moved to Vancouver in her early years where she met our
father Joseph George Moore. They spent many happy years together until he
passed away in 1980. Now they are reunited in the presence of God. Mable had
3 sons, Gary, Lorne and Rodger. She had 6 grandchildren who all have fond
memories of her, as well as 2 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly
missed by all. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at
1:00 p.m at the Kerrisdale Presybterian Church, 2733 W. 41st Ave.,
Vancouver.

MOSCOVICH _ Dr. Samuel Robert Died peacefully Sunday July 8, 2007 in
Richmond, BC. Predeceased by his wife Claire Roslyn (Balcovske), brothers
Max (K.C.), Dr. Jack, Saul (Q.C.), Dr. Barney, Dr. Joe and sister Betty
Gelman. Sam is survived by his daughter Robbie Hughes and grandchildren
Ashley Foster, Jessica (Daniel Galliera), Chelsea and Jared all of Toronto,
and son Marc (Suzanne) of Quebec City. Loved and adored by his many nieces
and nephews, Michael and Phyllis Moscovich of Vancouver, Dr. Michael and
Susie Moscovich of Campbell River, Shirley Dunn of Calgary, Jim and Barbara
Moscovich of London, Ontario, Billy and Ada Goodman of Israel, Marcia Hazard
and Jeff Lenchas of Danville, California, Muriel Moscovich and Roy Muster of
Toronto, Bruce Moscovich of Richmond, and Sandy Balcovske of Toronto and
many great-nieces and nephews. Dear friend of Audrey Chechik. Born and
raised in Lethbridge he earned his undergraduate degree at the U. of A.
where he starred at basketball with the Golden Bears. He later earned his
DDS degree at U of T, then enlisted in the Army where he served as a
dentist. Sam eventually moved to Vancouver where he practised dentistry for
over 50 years. He was former President of the BC Dental Association and a
founding member and club champion of the Richmond Golf and Country Club. He
always looked forward to Saturday morning breakfast "with the boys" and
Monday night poker games at The Club. Special thanks to his devoted
caregivers Eugene de la Cruz and Nancy Rivera. Donations to Beth Israel
Synagogue or the charity of your choice.Sam will rest next to his beloved
Claire in Lethbridge where he was born just over 90 years ago. Funeral in

POULSEN _ Erling - It is will great sadness that we announce the passing on
July 7, 2007 at Squamish General Hospital in Squamish of our beloved
husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He will
be deeply missed by his wife Lorane and children Connie, Lila (Kristian),
Margaret (John) and Stephen, grandchildren Deacon, Amanda, Ryan, Sarah,
Jamie, Justin and Michael, great-grandchildren Ashley, Arielle and Cyrus,
sisters, Lizzie (Erling) and Erla in Denmark and nieces and nephews Helle
(Vancouver), Hanna, Janna, Torben and Lars in Denmark. Erling was born in
Lem, Skive Denmark on April 19, 1931 and immigrated to Canada over 50 years
ago; he chose to make British Columbia his home. He worked as a carpenter in
Woodfibre for over 25 years, and resided in the Squamish area for over 40
years. A memorial service will be held at the Squamish Funeral Chapel
located at 40440 Tantalus Road, Garibaldi Highlands, B.C. on Friday, July

RICHMOND _ Helen passed away July 2nd, 2007 peacefully at Surrey Memorial
Hospital. Born March 10th, 1920 in St. Martin, MB, united in marriage in
1940 to William Lloyd Richmond. Helen lived in Winnipeg until 1972, when she
relocated with her husband and family to Surrey, BC. She is survived by her
husband William Lloyd Richmond of Surrey, BC; brothers Dutkiewicz of
Winnipeg, MB and Gerald (Eileen) of St. Paul, AB; children Elaine of
Richmond, BC, Beverley Murray (Don) of Fort Frances, ON, Audrey (George
Klassen) of St. Albert, AB, Lorne of Carmen, MB, Debbie Worrin (John) of
Penticton, BC, Lori Magee (Mike McLean) of Surrey, BC, Glen (Katherine
Hamilton) of New Westminster, BC and Pamela Richmond Houde (Morrice) of
Chilliwack, BC. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 2
great-grandchildren. As per Helen's wishes, a family service was held at
Fraser Heights Funeral Home on July 9th. Interment took place at the Masonic
Memorial Cemetery in Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a
Children's Hospital of your choice.

SAUNDERS _ Peter Paul Peter Paul passed away peacefully on July 4, 2007.
Born on July 21, 1928 in Budapest, Hungary. He is survived by his loving
wife of 51 years, Nancy, daughters Christine (David) and Paula (Fred) and
grandchildren Julie and Mark. He will also be missed by his brother Alex and
his family. He was predeceased by his brother Francis. A graduate of
Vancouver College and UBC, Peter Paul enjoyed a long and successful business
career. He founded Laurentide Financial and Versatile Corporation and sat on
numerous boards across Canada including Wajax Limited, WIC Western
International Communications, Northwest Sports Enterprises, Axa Pacific
Insurance Company, Bank of B.C. and National Trust. Peter Paul was one of
the founding members of BCTV, Grouse Mountain and the local Chapter of YPO.
Peter Paul was active in the community and contributed his time and
resources to numerous community organizations and charities for many years
including as Chairman of the Arthritis Research Center of Canada and
Vancouver Opera Round Table, and as President of the Canadian Cancer
Society, Vancouver Symphony Society, and Vancouver Art Gallery Association.
In 1993, the Governor-General of Canada awarded Peter Paul the Commemorative
Medal for the 125th anniversary of Canadian Confederation in recognition of
Peter Paul's contribution to Canada, his community and fellow Canadians.
Peter Paul enthusiastically enjoyed outdoor pursuits such as golf, skiing,
hunting and boating with family and friends. The family wishes to thank Dr.
Amil Shaw and the staff at the B.C. Cancer Agency for their outstanding
service and care provided to Peter Paul. In lieu of flowers a donation on
Peter Paul's behalf can be made to the B.C. Cancer Agency or the Arthritis
Research Centre for Canada. A celebration of Peter Paul's life will be held
at Shaughnessy Golf Club on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m
Peter Paul lived a life in full. He will be sorely missed but not forgotten
by family and friends.

SHARBININ _ Keith Alan. Keith left us peacefully at the young age of 51 on
Wednesday, July 4, 2007 with his wife and best friend Shelly, and his loving

SMITH _ Mariette Dora (Beaulne) July 25, 1926 - July 9, 2007 Passed away
peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital at the age of 80. Born in Montreal,
Quebec, predeceased by her husband Darrell. She is the loving mother of
Michael (Judy) of Salmon Arm, Laura (Bruce) of Chilliwack, grandsons Justin
and Clayton of Salmon Arm and numerous relatives on both sides of the family
survive her. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 13 at 11:00am
celebrated by Father Galvon at Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1153 Fir
Street, White Rock, BC, followed by a reception at Victory Memorial Park,
14831 - 28th Ave, Surrey, BC. In addition, the family wishes to thank the
caring health professionals at Peace Arch Hospital Palliative Unit. In lieu

SPIESSL _ Vera Viola, my loving and loyal companion of 53 years passed away
on July 4th, 2007 at The Shirley Dean Hospice in Surrey. Vera was born in
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan February 8th, 1923 and was raised by her
grandparents M. and D. Sinclair in Punnichy, Saskatchewan. She is leaving
behind her husband Louie, daughter Abby Urquhart and son-in-law Mike
Urquhart, her son Glen Douglas Spiessl, sister-in-law Elisabeth Traut of
Stanwood USA, sister-in-law Marilli Mueller, Munich Germany, grandchildren
Nicholas and Korranda. Vera was predeceased by 4 of her children who
tragically passed away. Vera had a heart ailment for numerous years and
succumbed to a major stroke. The family wishes to thank their many friends
for their kind support, also the Sunshine Hills congregation of Jehovah's
Witnesses for the comfort and support they have given us in this time of
need. Cremation, no service by request.

WARRILOW _ Diane Lynn Passed away July 8, 2007 at her home at the age of 51.
Survived by her dad, Victor, brother Greg (Sheila), sisters Bev (Lance),
Lorraine (Don), nieces Laura and Ashley, nephews Jeff and Byron and many
cousins. Diane was a very loving, kind and gentle daughter, sister and
friend. Predeceased by her mom Edith one year earlier. She enjoyed many
hours painting and sewing. We will miss your laughter, kindness and sales
pitch selling Avon. Service to be held at a later date in Kenora, Ontario.
