WESTDORP
(van Maldegem)
Jannette Gerarda
"Netty"
Went to be with the Lord
July 20, 2007
Netty was born on August 25, 1931 in de Koog, Texel, Holland. In December of
1957 she immigrated to Canada to marry the love of her life, Gerrit Westdorp
in Kitimat, BC. Leaving Kitimat with their eldest daughter Marianne, they
came to Vancouver Island where they had two more children, Brian and Sharon.
The family moved to Campbell River in 1965 where they enjoyed a wonderful
life shared with family and friends.
Netty was known for her willingness to help anyone, her home-made soup and
knitting all those socks, she seldom missed going to watch any event that
her kids or grandkids were involved in. After Gerry retired they enjoyed
many fantastic times together especially with their camping and going down
south.
Leaving behind to miss her is; her husband Gerry, their children Marianne,
Brian (Kim), Sharon (Walter), their grandchildren Christiaan, Jeremy and
Emily Herbin, Graeme, Garret and Mitchell Westdorp and her sister Marianne
(Wim) Verbeem. As well all of her brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces,
nephews and so many friends.
She has peacefully gone to join her parents, Christiaan and Martje (Kooger)
van Maldegem and her sisters Tiny (Germ) van der Meer and Jo (Jaap) Jansen.
"Tot Ziens"
Netty's service will be held at St. Peters Anglican Church (228 S. Dogwood)
with Rev. John Green officiating on July 27, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with a tea to
follow.
Flowers are gracefully declined as she has seen the fields of flowers in
Heaven, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
