In memory of Jaswant Singh Berar (husband of the late Sham Kaur Berar). July
26, 1907 - August 11, 1986. Thinking of our beloved Dad, Grandpa, Great
Grandpa and pioneer from Lake Cowichan, BC on his 100th Birthday today! We
love and miss you more than words can say.

BIRO _ Elfie Mom, you were right. You were always right. Family is
everything. You always said we were your life and you showed it in all you
did. Thank you for all the ways you loved us. It was always the 4 of us....
and now, Sharon and I will look after Daddy for you. Elfie was the
well-known and dearly loved owner of the Ambleside Barber Shop in West
Vancouver. Please come and celebrate her life with us. Prayers will be held
on Friday, July 27, 2007 at 7:30 pm at St. Edmund's Catholic Church, 545
Mahon Avenue, North Vancouver, BC. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
the church on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 11:00 am. Reception will follow at
the family's residence. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lions Gate
Hospital - Intensive Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.

BRADFORD _ John Phillip, born February 22, 1919 in Kamloops, passed away
July 22, 2007 after a brief illness at aged 88 years. His first love was
flying, he served in the RCAF as Flight Instructor during WWII. Followed by
a career in B.C. Tel for 38 years as installer, repairman and then PBX
Installation Supervisor. Known to many as the "Silver Fox". Survived by son
Ross and sister Betty Wahl and by his loving wife Eileen; stepchildren
Kevin, Donna, Mark and Carol; grandchildren James and Megan; and special
nephew and niece Brian and Diane Bradford and their family; and his extended
family Larry and Nola Taylor and their family; and many friends who will
miss him so much. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, July 30 from
1pm-4pm in Sunrise Point Clubhouse, 16275 - 15th Ave., Surrey. In lieu of
flowers donations to charity of choice.

BRUCE _ Bernadette Angela (Reilander) Born in Regina and lately of
Abbotsford. In her 83rd year her body tired and after a brief illness her
spirit passed. Survived by her daughter Roberta and sons Douglas and
Jonathon (Alida), brother Norbert and a host of grandchildren and great
grandchildren. She leaves also many nephews and nieces, a loving extended
family and a circle of dear friends. Bernie will be remembered for her
kindness of spirit, her generosity of heart and time and her passion for
accuracy and integrity. Since Bernie supported a variety of charities a
donation to the charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers, would be
appreciated. A special thanks to Dr. Williams and the staff of ICU at MSA
Hospital for their heroic efforts. Memorial service to be held Tuesday, July
31 at 2:00 PM, Henderson's Funeral Home, 20786 Fraser highway, Langley with
tea to follow. "Don't give me any more chicken soup."

DAUNCEY _ Edwin John (Ed) passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2007
at the age of 93. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Florine, 3
sons; Darwin (Bernice), Dale (Venus) and Doug (Brenda); 6 grandchildren;
Dustin, Katrina, Kate, Alex, Lauren, and Connor; also survived by 1 brother
Elmer, and 2 sisters Veda and Anne and many nephews and nieces. Dad was born
in Webb Saskatchewan, where he grew up on a farm with his 5 brothers and 4
sisters. During the depression, in his early 20's, he rode the rails out
West where he started his life here, first as a ranch hand. Over the years
he was a mechanic, service station owner, ship's welder, house builder, real
estate agent and notary public, finishing his business career as the owner
of E J Dauncey Realty. He also served as a foot soldier overseas in WW II.
He was a wonderful husband and father who taught us all the values of hard
work and family. He was extremely devoted to his wife and 3 boys and their
wives. He enjoyed golf, gardening, cards, going for walks and shooting pool
with the family. We will dearly miss him. A memorial service will be held on
Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 2:00PM at Valley View Funeral Home, 14660-72nd
Ave., Surrey. Please join us for a tea following the service. In lieu of
flowers, donations to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the charity
of your choice will be appreciated.

EWASIUK _ Walter born May 3, 1936 passed away peacefully on July 13, 2007.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret; son, Darren; daughter,
Darcey (Larry) and two grandchildren Kristen and Connie, 1 brother, Ernest
(Donna); 3 sisters, Nadia, Gloria and Sadie. Walter was a kind, generous and
caring man, he will be in our hearts and we will miss you. No service by

HULL _ Geoffrey David died of cancer in Vancouver at the Cottage Hospice on
July 21, 2007. He was a graduate of Lakefield College School, Queen's
University and the School of Architecture at the University of British
Columbia, and a practising architect in Vancouver. He is survived by his
wife, Fleur Palliardi, his son, Aidan, his parents, Margot Finley (Maurice
Pigeon) and Ralph Hull (Sherri), his sister Susan Hull (Bill Pollock) and
brother, Andrew Hull (Shaan Syed). A tribute to Geoffrey will be held at
1:00 o'clock on Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Cecil Green Park, 6251 Cecil

JAN MOHAMED _ Zarina passed away peacefully at VGH on 24th July, 2007
surrounded by her loved ones. She leaves behind her devoted son and best
friend Jan, her sister Ash Farran, and brothers Amin and Farouk Verjee. A
beautiful, vibrant woman, she was the eldest daughter of Count B.K.S. Verjee
C.B.E of Uganda, and was educated in England. She moved with her family to
Vancouver in 1974. She excelled in her new career in Human Resources as the
Area Manager for Spherion (formerly Norrell Services Inc.), and achieved
many accolades from her peers in the industry. She was an ethical,
industrious and caring soul who reached out to all who needed a helping
hand. She gave tirelessly and unconditionally to her family, her faith, her
profession and the community at large. She was an enthusiastic volunteer and
Chair of the Surgical Services Care Unit at Lions Gate Hospital during her
retirement years which gave her immense fulfillment. In addition, she
supported Jan in his jewelry business and many charitable causes related to
the business. The family wish to express their heartfelt appreciation and
admiration to the many doctors, nurses, caregivers and volunteers at Lions
Gate, St Paul's, and Vancouver General Hospitals all of who did their very
best for her and her family with tremendous compassion, caring and empathy.
In her everlasting memory, in lieu of flowers, friends are requested to
support the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation, or do an act of kindness for the
benefit of her soul on its onward journey. Zarina inspired us all by her
discipline, hard work, passion for life, generosity of the heart and
stoicism. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her compassion
for people, the anchor she was to everyone in her family and her zest for
life. May Allah rest her soul in eternal peace, amen. Funeral services will
be held at the Ismaili Jamathkhana, 6556 Sprott Street at Kensington (off
Hwy 1, across from Eight Rinks) in Burnaby on Friday July 27 at 9:00 a.m.,
followed by interment 10:00 a.m. at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, at 3789 Royal
Oak off Canada Way in Burnaby. There will be a reception thereafter at the

LOWE _ Mary born in Leeds (England), passed away suddenly on July 19, 2007
in Port Coquitlam, BC at the age of 85. She will be sadly missed by her son

MARAZZO _ Joseph (Joe) Carmen September 28, 1921 - July 23, 2007 It is with
great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father,
grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Joe Marazzo. Joe died
peacefully at Queen's Park Hospice on Monday, July 23, 2007. He was
predeceased by his wife Clara (April 2002) and will be lovingly remembered
by his son John; daughter Joanne; grandchildren Tim (Madonna) and Jennifer
(Jim); great-grandchildren Araya, Rylie, Alycia, Avarie, Christopher and
Patrick; sisters Jean, Virginia and Mary. Joe was born in Niagara Falls,
Ontario, one of a family of 13. He served in the Canadian Army in World War
II and was a member of "Operation Muskox" in the Canadian Arctic. After the
war Joe moved to B.C. and began a career as an Ironworker. Joe spent many
years with Bickerton Bridge and worked throughout B.C. He met his wife Clara
while working in Kelowna. They moved to Vancouver where they lived and
raised their family. Joe enjoyed hunting and later in life was introduced to
the art of Bonsai and became a devoted member of the local Bonsai Community.
Joe was working in the backyard on his trees until shortly before his final
illness. He fought valiantly through his stroke, before succumbing to kidney
failure. The family wishes to thank Dr. K. Fong of New Westminster for his
years of dedicated service, and the staff at the RCH Dialysis Unit who
became an integral part of his life since March of 2006. We would also like
to thank the staff at RCH 5 South, and the Angels at Queen's Park Hospice
for the care and compassion that was given to Joe at the end of his life.
His courage and determination will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers,
donations can be made either to the Kidney Foundation or to the Heart and
Stroke Foundation. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007
at 10 a.m. at the Columbia Bowell Chapel 219- 6th Street, New Westminster,
B.C. (604-521-4881). Reception to follow at 11 a.m. at the Inn at the
Westminster Quay, 900 Quayside Drive (604-520-1776).

McLINTOCK _ Pearl Audrey Born August 11, 1927 in Lowood, Australia, passed
away July 22, 2007 in North Vancouver, BC. Pearl was a past employee of BC
Tel for many years and a cosmetic supervisor at Eatons. Survived by her
three sons Peter, Robert and Christopher, grandchildren Dillon, Shawn,
Michele and Cameron, one sister Joan O'Dea of Australia and many friends. A
Celebration of Life Service and Reception will be held at 2:00pm Sunday July
29th, 2007 at Boal Chapel First Memorial Funeral Services, 1505 Lillooet
Road, North Vancouver, BC.

MIETTUNEN _ Aune Ester Born October 7, 1925 in Finland, passed away July 18,
2007 in Vancouver. Survived by husband Edseli, son Markku (Vee), daughter
Anita (Steve). Mummo was a caring, kind and loving grandma to Cleveland,
Jenna, Sonja, Margot, and step grandson Nicholas. Aune also leaves behind
family in Finland. In recent years, Aune especially enjoyed time with her
family, tending her garden and many special trips abroad. The family
sincerely thanks all of the doctors, nurses and staff who so compassionately
cared for her during her brief illness. In lieu of flowers, donations to the
Palliative Care Unit at VGH would be appreciated.

SIDHU _ Harjit Kaur Harjit Kaur Sidhu (nee Gill), passed away peacefully on
July 23, 2007. Beloved wife of Balvindar Sidhu, proud mother of Drs. Ravi
and Raja Sidhu, and loving grandmother to Aamiya and Sachin. Will be missed
and remembered by sister Harbhajan, brothers Inderjit, Sarbjit, Brahamjit,

generous heart, and brave spirit will be honoured at the Valley View Funeral

THOMPSON _ Jean Nancy, aged 76, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2007 at
Peach Arch Hospital. Jean was the second child born to Ottie and Ivy Kasper
in Eckville, Alberta on April 23, 1931. Jean is predeceased by her mother,
father, husband, Edwin Thompson and son, Gary Thompson. She is survived by
her daughters Sherry Thompson of Edmonton, Susan and Karel Thompson of
Surrey; four grandchildren, Christine, Sarah, Edwin and Nikki and seven
great-grandchildren; Victoria, Rodney, Kristian, Cody, Isabelle, Jaden and
Kale; brothers Doug Kasper and family of Bellingham and Keith Kasper and
family of Surrey. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 28,

VAN EPP _ Ethel Marjorie May 23, 1924 - July 23, 2007 Ethel passed away
peacefully on July 23 at Lions Gate Hospital after contracting pneumonia
while recovering from surgery. She is survived by her sons Henry and Peter
Van Epp. At Ethel's request there will be no service.

VIZVARY _ Jozsef Born November 19, 1923 in Pakod, Zala Megye, Hungary. It is
with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jozsef Vizvary on
July 19, 2007. He was a wonderful person loved so much by Ilonka, his wife
of 52 years. Papa will be dearly missed by his children Joe (Christina) and
Martha (Rick) and his most beloved grandchildren Matthew, Kevin, Michaela,
Christian and Tristan. He is also survived by his twin sister Margit, his
niece, nephews and many friends in Hungary. A memorial service will be held
July 28 at 12 P.M. at the Hungarian Reformed Church of Vancouver, 900 East
19th Ave., Vancouver, Reverend Louis Fabian officiating. In lieu of flowers,

peacefully on the 24th of July, 2007. She is survived by 3 children: Eddy
