May I suggest a Sorrow In Our Heart-The Life of Tecumseh by Allan W. Eckert which has many references to Clarks--
Abby, George Rogers Clark, & Wm. Clark....
Captains Wm. Clark & Merriweather Lewis were working for "Uncle Sam" in Missouri looking for the sunset sea. The young Captain Wm. Clark was the brother of the white chief George Rogers Clark who had helped take who had helped take the Ohio lands from the Ohio tribal people. Clark is also a common name among many tribes, look back to the late 1700`s & early 1800`s in Va., Ky, Tenn.Ohio & Indiana.
Some Clarks are Shawnee. Hope this helps some. ShawneeMary
