Helen,
I noticed that you have your line back to Lewis and Clark. I have often wondered whether William Clark was related to our family. I noticed that in his history he died in around St. Louis, MO approx 1838 where he was superindendent of Indian Affairs and a famly man.
The last person on my line is Willy Clark married to Mable Weston parents of Colby Clark born in Colby, Kansas 1888. Colby is currently in Thomas County.
I have hit a brick wall though because I obtained a marriage license from a family member that indicates that Colby was born in New Brunswich to Enoch W. Clark and Jane Grant. It also states he was 26 (which would have made his birth 1880). Colby, Kansas was not a city until 1885. The family member said though that there were rumors that he was born out west. Perhaps he was hiding something from his past.
I would love to see your information about how you tied into the William Clark of Lewis and Clark to see if there is any chance we are related.
Thank you for any guidance and help you can share.
