I still have not found a lot on my Clarks and nothing for absolutely sure. All I had to go on was an old bible my grandfather had. I have not seen it in 20 years but what I had written down in it was my great grandmother was Emily Clark Casteel and her father was John Fin Clark and mother Stacy? and that she was born in Montogomery Co. Ohio.

What I have found and seems to be correct is She married an Amos Casteel in Cochocan ? Co. not sure of spelling don't have my info handy. Her father was John Payne Clark and her mother was Stacy Glasscock. She md my great grandfather Hiram Josleyn in Spencer Co. IN in 1847 and she is listed there with her husband Amos and three children in 1850 census and a John P. Clark whom I am assuming was her father. He was the right age. When I trace this family back it comes from that Cochcocan or whatever Co. In Ohio and it all seems to fit.

My cousin whoes great grandmother was my grandfather's sister ahd the Payne listed as possibly Stacy's last name but as we have weeded out things it does appear much of the information they had was incorrect including the Montogmery Co. Ohio.

We have a picture of a Merietta Clark Carpenter that we cannot find fits into our family. Would you happen to have a Merietta Clark in your line.

These Clarks came to Ohio from VA.

Our grandparents always told us we were related to the Clark of the Lewis and Clark expedition. I have found nothing to prove this or disprove it.

If your family would fit into anything I have found would love to see your info.

Betty
