Well, I got another deed from the TN State Archives...it seems...the spelling of
the Name Coats is "Couts"...now that makes me wonder about all the other variations
I've seen....

At any rate this is an 1800 deed from William Couts to John Baker in Robertson County
TN...

I guess the "a" could have been mistaken for a "u"...this is a typed document rather
than hand written...probably been transcribed by someone at the TN Archive....

I should have it up tomorrow evening if you'd like to see it...
