Big book "The Life and Letters of John HAY" (Vol. 1 & 2) by William
Roscoe Thayer, 1929. Two volumes in one, hardback with 456 pages,
INDEXED (excellent), 8.25" x 5.75", illustrated, in GOOD+ CONDITION.

John HAY born in IN, resided in IL/NH/DC, educated in RI whop traveled
the world. Descends from Scotland/England/Germany/France. He was son
of Charles HAY (b 1801 KY) & Helen LEONARD; grandchild of John HAY &
Jemima COULTER (1775-1865). Thus, after 4 generations of wanderings out
of Scotland to the Rhenish Palatinate, and thence to PA, VA, KY, & IN,
the HAY line met that of the LEONARDs, who had emigrated from England to
