I would like to try this query again. I finally found Don's real web
page and I could not find any information to a DYE connection there. I
have seen references to John's wife Loucy as being a DYE, among other
names, and wonder if Eva considers herself a descendant. My family
lives next to an Emory DYE.

In her book "Courageous Colter and Companions", Ruth Frick mentions
several times a woman named Eva Emory Dye and a collection at the Oregon
Historical Society. The book did not make any of this clear to me. Can
someone help?

Who is Eva Emory Dye? Is she related to John Colter? What is in this
collection? Where is the collection located in Oregon?
