Hello Fellow Listers,
I have been fortunate to find much information
about Robert Stuart Coulter and Isabella Wylie from
various Rootsweb and GenWeb sites. I've even found
detailed information about some of their children. I am
a descendant of their oldest son, John Wylie Coulter.
He served in the Civil War as did his brothers,
James Riley, Samuel Leiper, Robert S, and Phillip M.
Another brother, Arthur Parks was Marissa, IL "town
doctor" for many years. John Wylie also became a
doctor in 1860 and served as such in the War.
My problem is that I cannot seem to find adequate
information about John Wylie Coulter while he resided
in IL. He moved his family to NE in 1873. I have
found him in the 1870 census at Pilot Knob,
Washington Co.
I am hoping that descendants of his brothers and
sisters might have information about him and his
early years in Illinois. I will gladly share information
about Robert Stuart and Isabella Coulter and family
that I have gathered. Does anyone have information
or can you direct me where to find more?
Thank you for any assistance!
Linda Coulter Hirst
