Muriel Francis Coulter, son of the late Edward and Viola (Huffman) Coulter, was born at Avard, Oklahoma, on December 12, 1916, and passed away at his home in Waynoka, Oklahoma, on January 12, 1996, at the age of 79 years, and one month.

Muriel lived in the Waynoka area all of his life, where he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, the Railways Ice Company, and farmed. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

On July 9, 1938, he was united in marriage to Nelta Jane Hartley at Alva, Oklahoma. They are members of the First Baptist Church in Waynoka and the Waynoka Saddle Club.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin Coulter on September 9, 1975, Marvin Coulter on April 25, 1985, and Orval Coulter on June 5, 1990, and one sister, Ella Case on November 15, 1978.

Muriel is survived by his wife, Nelta of the home, one son, Leo Coulter and his wife, Rita, of Woodward, Oklahoma; his daughter, Colene Green and her husband, Dennis, of Burton, Kansas; one brother, Vincent Coulter and his wife, Wanda, of Fresno, California; and one sister, Marie Cue and her husband, Austin of Waynoka, Oklahoma.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Julie, of Woodward, Charity Rivers and her husband James, of Woodward, Mike Green and his wife, Anette, of Garden City, Kansas, JoAnne Green of McPherson, Kansas, and Brandon Green of Burton, Kansas; four great grandchildren, and other relatives and a host of friends.
