I sent the request for information regarding the Korean soldier to my son who works in WV. I knew he had met some Coulters there who as far as we know are not related to ours. He sent the information on to one person and the reply is below. I hope this will help. If the person who posted this wants his email address, please contact me
I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS A YOUNG BOY BETWEEN THE AGE OF FIVE AND TEN. THERE WAS TWO COULTER THAT CAME UP TO THIS AREA THAT WAS MY DADS FIRST COUSINS. HAWARD COULTER AND CHARLIE COULTER, THEY CAME TO OUR HOUSE OFTEN. THEY CAME HERE FROM CLAY COUNTY, WV. THEY STAYED TOGETHER IN A HOUSE THAT WAS CLOSE TO MY GRANDPARENTS SMALL FARM. MY GRANDFATHER WAS THEIR UNCLE. THEY GOT JOBS IN THE COAL MINES. THEY WAS DRAWN TO THIS AREA BY MY GRANDFATHER, ERNEST ELLSWORTH COULTER. THIS AREA BEING MONONGAHALIA COUNTY, WV. I THINK IT WAS HAYWARD WHO HAD FAMILY THAT CAME UP THIS WAY TO BE WITH HIM. THIS CHARLES YOU ARE SEARCHING FOR IS MORE THAN LIKELY HAYWARDS SON. HAYWARD WAS A WORLD WAR 2 VET. I REMEMBER HAYWARD AND CHARLIE DIED OF PAINTERS DIESEASE, KNOWN AS LIVER FAILURE TODAY.
