FAMILY REUNION A LARGE AFFAIR
A GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AT NEWKIRK,
AT WHICH THIRTY-SEVEN DESCENDANTS PARTICIPATED
Special to The Oklahoman- Guthrie, Okla., April 23-
John Calvin Coulter and wife, who were married in St Clair county, Illinois, fifty years ago, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last night at their home in Newkirk, where he is a prominent business man and an elder in the Presbyterian church. He is his seventy-fifth year and his wife in her sixty-eighth.
They have forty-three living descendants; four sons and two daughters, thirty-four grandchildren and three great grandchildren; thirty-seven of the descendants were present last night.
R.T. Coulter, a son of the aged couple, is the father of fourteen children, twelve of whom are living; nine by his present wife are living; of whom the eldest is a girl of eleven years; then followed four pair of twins, the first of whom are boys, aged eight; then a boy and a girl; next two girls, and last two girls, who were three hundred and
sixty-four days old on the golden wedding anniversary.
The older Mrs Coulter's sister, Mrs Henry Hamilton, and husband were also present at the wedding anniversary; the Hamilton's celebrated their golden anniversary three years ago.
